2 – 2 Norwich City
14 July 2019
Energieversum Stadion, Gütersloh
Goalscorers: Yabo, Consbruch
Norwich City began their pre-season tour of Germany with a 2-2 draw with 2.Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld in Gütersloh.
A hectic first-half saw three goals, two unfortunate injuries sustained by City players and a red card.
City led 2-1 at the break after goals from Dennis Srbeny and Josip Drmic on debut had cancelled our Reinhold Yabo’s opener. Sadly for City, Louis Thompson and Ben Godfrey both had to come off with injury.
A relatively quiet second half followed but Bielefeld earned a share of the spoils when Jomaine Consbruch curled into the top corner with just minutes left.
FC Schalke 04 1 – 2
19 July 2019
Frimo Stadion, Lotte
Norwich City’s pre-season tour of Germany drew to a close with a 2-1 victory over FC Schalke 04 at the Frimo Stadion in Lotte.
Teemu Pukki fired City into an early lead, finishing neatly after a through ball from Patrick Roberts before Rabbi Matondo replied for Schalke just after half-time.
A deflected Moritz Leitner strike restored City’s advantage on the hour mark and City had the better chances to add to the scoreline afterwards. However, 2-1 was enough to earn them an impressive result against one of the top sides in Germany.

Colney Training Centre
Norwich City suffered their first defeat of pre-season on Wednesday evening with a 3-1 defeat to Brentford at Colney Training Centre.
Emi Buendia’s superb strike on nine minutes gave City the lead but Brentford quickly responded when Emiliano Marcondes neatly finished from close range.
Both sides had chances in the second-half but Brentford were the more clinical – Ollie Watkins and Ethan Pinnock seeing them to victory with two goals after the interval.
Luton Town 1 – 5
27 July 2019
A Josip Drmic hat-trick helped Norwich City on their way to an impressive 5-1 victory over Sky Bet Championship side Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.
City ran riot in the first-half and led 4-1 at the break. Three goals came inside the first 15 minutes, courtesy of Marco Stiepermann and Drmic (2). Luton responded through Dan Potts on 34 minutes but City quickly fired back when Drmic completed his hat-trick.
A sensational Patrick Roberts strike in the second-half made it five as City eased to victory.

Goalscorers: Todd Cantwell 16’
Atalanta came from behind as City fell to a 4-1 defeat in their penultimate pre-season match of the summer.
Norwich dominated for the first 30 minutes of the match, with the excellent Todd Cantwell deservedly putting City ahead after 16 minutes. Some of the Canaries’ play was very impressive against an Atalanta side that had finished 3rd in Serie A last season, but Atalanta grew into the game and equalised just before half-time through Luis Muriel. As the second half became a procession of substitutions, with the flow interrupted, Atalanta showed their Champions League class to score three times.
Norwich may well be disappointed with defeat, but it was an excellent work-out against a quality side, and before the series of subs kicked in they were more than a match for a very slick outfit.
Norwich City 1 – 0
03 August 2019
Norwich City rounded off their preparations for the 2019-20 Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Toulouse at Carrow Road.
Kenny McLean scored the only goal of the game on 39 minutes, a precise, low strike which found the bottom corner. It should have been much more with the chances City created, particularly in the second-half, but nonetheless it was a positive end to pre-season for Daniel Farke’s team.
