The first full month in the draft is complete, already it’s been a rollercoaster.
7 weeks in and the league hasn’t settled, from August to September only one player has retained their position with everyone else moving. More to be discussed on this later – first things first…
MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations and happy birthday to Stratford Settlers for convincingly winning Manager of the Month September 2018/19, with a barnstorming final week of 61 points to put any competition beyond doubt and propel the team in to 3rd place overall. Key thanks need to go to Hazard (44 points), Aguero (27 points) and Gylfi Sigurdsson (23 points) for their September hauls accounting for 46% of H.Jawanda’s monthly points. We’ve seen it before, someone retaining their top spot month-by-month. Lallana Land is the only team to stay in their position and it just so happens to be at the top, despite falling to third in the monthly rankings.
Despite a strong start, Real Madras have found themselves in their comfort zone, mid-table.
But there are much more interesting things at play:
1) The Demise of DIDIER POGBA
Hitesh Pankhania’s world must be crashing down around him. From the dizzying heights of 3rd place in Gameweek 1 to rock bottom. DIDIER POGBA has in fact done a straight swap with Stratford Settlers over 7 weeks and is the only team to have not gone up a position in any Gameweek. When you see that in September DIDER POGBA got 71 points less than the Manager of the Month you can see how this happened.
Here is another reason why, LOL:
2) Low-key Lokesh
This team is more underrated than Firmino. From 6th in Gameweek 1 to 2nd in Gameweek 7 PengTingCalldMadison is every bit worth his salt, climbing every week bar 2 at a consistent rate. What an aptly named team, with Madison turning up in September with 22 points making him the team’s second-best performer in the month.
3) Let’s Get Sarri-ous Subsides
Only a month ago we were waxing lyrical about this side “As the league started it already looked like Let’s get Sarri-ous was going to run away with it, with two Gameweek wins in a row, buoyed by ardent picks Alli, Salah, Pogba and Mendy.” But with Mendy probably injured forever, Alli and Salah misfiring and Pogba trying to get himself kicked out of Manchester United again – Let’s Get Sarri-ous is in Sarri-ous trouble! Only thanks to some poor Gameweek 7 performances by The Wenger Returns and Real Madras did this team manage to climb a place for the first time this season.
Shock horror Neves Say Neves has made more than double (36) successful transactions and FA’s than the next most person (TAZZY FAMS with 16). Does he control the transactions, or do they control him? Apparently nothing will put him off, not even reactions like this…
